Medical Description of Zufinib 250mg Tablet
Zufinib 250mg Tablet contains Gefitinib 250mg used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. It is used in patients who have abnormal epidermal growth factor receptors genes and who do not have previous cancer treatment. It is not recommended in patients with lung and liver diseases.

Mechanism of action of Zufinib 250mg Tablet
Zufinib 250mg Tablet is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the signaling pathway instilled by epithelial growth factor receptor present on non-small cell lung cancer that possesses EGFR exon 19 or 21 gene mutation. Thus, when the requirements of abnormal cancer cells are not met, it causes them to slow down their progression and spread thus treating and controlling non-small cell lung cancer.

Drug Interaction of Zufinib 250mg Tablet
Drug-Drug Interaction
Abametapir
The use of this medicine is contraindicated because the use of abametapir increases the effect of gefitinib by affecting the hepatic and intestinal enzyme metabolism.
Aluminum hydroxide
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of aluminum hydroxide decreases the effect of gefitinib by increasing the gastric Ph.
Glecaprevir
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of gefitinib will increase the effect of glecaprevir by decreasing its metabolism
Warfarin
Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of gefitinib increases the effect of unknown mechanisms.
Drug-Food Interaction
Gefitinib 250mg should be taken on an empty stomach one hour before the meal or 2 hours after the meal. You should also avoid grapefruit juice while you are receiving this medicine it may increase the Gefitinib in blood levels.
Drug-Disease Interaction
GI perforation
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients who are having a history of diverticulitis because they are having an increased risk for developing gastrointestinal perforation.
Hepatic impairment
Systemic exposure to this medicine is higher in patients with moderate hepatic impairment. So kindly monitor the patient's liver enzymes and bilirubin level before initiating the treatment.
Ocular disorders
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with ocular disorders such as primary keratitis, ulcerative keratitis, and conjunctivitis.
Pulmonary toxicity
Therapy should be administered with caution in patients with a history of interstitial pneumonia because the use of certain epidermal growth factor inhibitors may cause pulmonary toxicity.
Over Dose

Missed Dose
