    Zuvicin 10mg Injection contains Epirubicin 10mg used to treat adjuvant treatment for breast cancer. It is used as an orphan drug in the treatment of soft tissue sarcoma. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of cancer cells by suppressing the enzyme which is involved in the DNA multiplication of cancer cells. This medicine is recommended for adults only.

Zuvicin 10mg Injection, causes impairment in DNA intercalation inducing apoptosis of these abnormal cancer cells. Thus, Zuvicin 10mg Injection treats breast cancer and other cancers.


    Zuvicin 10mg Injection Contraindication

    • Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Epirubicin
    • It is contraindicated to use this medicine in patients with cardiomyopathy or heart failure, with recent myocardial infarction, and severe myocardial insufficiency

    Deferiprone

    Use alternative drug because the combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by pharmacodynamic synergism

    Cimetidine

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the use of cimetidine increases the effect of epirubicin by decreasing its metabolism

    Hydroxyurea

    The combination of this medicine may increase the risk of developing myelosuppression

    Olaparib

    Therapy should be administered with caution because the combination of this medicine increases the pharmacodynamic synergism

    Trastuzumab

    The combination of this medicine either increases the toxicity of the other by immunosuppressive effect and also increase the risk for developing an infection

    Drug-Food Interaction

    Consuming alcohol may increase the risk of affecting your liver. Kindly consult with your doctor if you have experienced fever, chills, joint pain, swelling, bleeding, rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, dark-colored urine, and yellow-colored skin or eyes.

    Drug-Disease Interaction

    Liver diseases

    The patients who are with severe hepatic impairment should not be treated with epirubicin because the route of elimination is a hepatobiliary system and serum total bilirubin and AST level should be increased during or after the treatment so kindly reduce the dose in these patients

    Neutropenia

    The patients who are having a baseline neutrophil count is less than 1500 cells/mm3 because dose-dependent reversible leucopenia and neutropenia were observed

    Infections

    The use of this medicine may cause severe infections to include urinary tract infections, pneumonia, sepsis, herpes encephalitis, and mycobacterial infection which lead to retroperitoneal hemorrhage.


    Over Dose
